We've been serving our community since 1993, and over those years we've become known for a lot of different things. When it's warm out, guests come for our patio, one that's been voted the best in the area two years in a row. In the winter, our authentic jambalaya warms people with its delicious spices. Some even come specifically to unwind in our restored antique bar. There are a lot of reasons to visit us, but the part of our tradition we're proudest of is our dedication to our guests. You'll always receive warm, attentive service, and from-scratch food made to order. And when you come for live music, we'll make sure you know about all the drink specials. We're not just a restaurant -- we're a local establishment, and we're one that can't wait to welcome you.

Lunch with the wife. She had chicken marsala and I had a Chicken Ceasar Salad. She said the Marsala was good and the portion was large. My Salad was excellent and also a huge portion. Our waitress was friendly and attentive.
Red Hawk never disappoints! And it is nearly time of the year for lunch on the patio.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 4, 2024Previous reviewThe Redhawk never disappoints. Always great food and fantastic service. My wofe and I enjoyed a nice lunch here today. I had a fresh Ceasar Salad and, one of my favorites, Hungarian Hot stuffed peppers ... just the right amount of spicyness.
My wife had the Polish stuffed cabbage rolls with mashed potatoes which she said were wonderful, just to her liking. - K M.Cleveland, OH054103Dec 2, 2023
I'm sorry but I just have to tell you the bold faced facts about this place.
It very well may be some people's cup of tea (there were some folks there laughing and apparently having some fun in all the confusion). But it was about as far as you can get from an kind of environment I would enjoy.
We walked in 5 minutes ahead of our reservation time and were immediately told we would have to wait until one of the booths cleared out. "How long do you think that might be", I asked. "Not really sure, maybe 15-30 minutes". Really...I have to wait 30 minutes for the seating I reserved a week ago?! Well we decided to tough it out and see what this entire experience would look like.
The young lady at the desk suggested we might wait at either of the two bars (front or rear). No one could even get near the front one so we went to find the rear one. Once we found the plastic covered patio the smoke in the air was so dense I swore the bar was on fire... nope, just cigarettes. So we went back up front and stood in the entrance way, being pushed and shoved and continually in someone's way. 30 torturous minutes later we finally got our booth. In the horrendously noisy room of the front bar.
Then the only pleasant experience of the evening showed up. A very pleasant, efficient young woman showed up to be our server. She did a great job in spite of it all. She is the only reason this is a 2 star instead of a 1 star rating.
The food ranged from "okay" to "uneatable". A band had the audacity to start up in the middle of all this madness and seemingly do a 20 warm-up, arbitrarily banging on drums, plucking on guitar strings in a fashion as far from music as one could possibly get. The noise was unbearable. We finally just had to escape.
The experience was miserable... just miserable.
Please don't waste your time or money.
You would be far better off going to the Waffle House next door instead.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 25, 2024
What a wonderful experience at Redhawk. I visited this restaurant this past Sunday and I was very impressed with their draft beer selection. The food also was extremely delicious, I had their deep dish Rueben pierogis and my wife had the New Orleans Jambalaya which both were fantastic. This is a must try if you're in the area.

Great food and atmosphere! They always have a wait time but the food and entertainment is well worth it

Wide menu selection, food is great with large portions and reasonable prices. Wait staff is attentive and pleasant. The outdoor patio is a plus in warmer weather.

We did call ahead they gave us a table directly next to a speaker a band was doing a sound check on. The food was good but overpriced. I was was you would cram so many tables into a room with a band so cannot speak or hear

Good food on the restaurant side, but do not bother with ordering food after 8:00 pm on the patio, as the bartenders "do not pay attention, and/or do their job (customer care) at that particular time of night!

This was a good find. Went here twice coming back from Track meets. Sat on the patio, it is dog friendly!
I tried the jambalaya, it was a large portion with tons of shrimp, chicken, and sausage. I like heat, so there was a bit of spice to it, but it was not overwhelming. Got a few cold beers.
I was there with a table of 8 so there was a lot of food, the a lot of pressure on the wait staff to get things right and the kitchen staff. The staff did just fine. Good service, hot food, and cold beer.
I would go back, small issue I found with the bill after I left :-( double charged me for an appetizer. But other than that, I would be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cheryl M.Chardon, OH04Feb 4, 2024
Had dinner with friends a few weeks ago. We had a great server and the restaurant is very nice inside. The food was just okay. I tried the pork schnitzel. The schnitzel was nicely breaded but barely warm. The gravy on top was horrible! I could tell it was heated and globbed on top. It looked like a curdled mess and way too thick in texture. The schnitzel had no seasoning at all. The mashed potatoes were also barely warm, no seasoning and dry.
My husband had the butterflied shrimp. They were overcooked. The coleslaw served with the dish was inedible because it had way too much vinegar. This was the opinion of several of our diners in our party. Not sure we will be returning any time soon.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
